BJJ is a self-defense martial art based on the floor and uses the principle of leverage to perform a takedown, an inversion, or a submission. Jiu-Jitsu is so effective that you don’t need to strike or hurt the person in order to control or immobilize them on the ground. This program is for men, women, teen boys and girls and it requires physical contact since you will practice with a partner. Learning BJJ also aids in weight loss, helps gain muscle strength, improve agility and flexibility, increase self-esteem, self-confidence, self-defense, relieves stress and creates friendship. We divide the students into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Different levels of classes can show all the fundamentals in the most ideal way possible. Beginners receive special attention with classes specifically designed for this phase. After this period (60 classes), the level increases with access to the intermediate classes and then soon after, the advanced. At this point, the student will already have a wealth of Jiu-Jitsu knowledge. We teach specific techniques according to their level, which prepares them for the next level and also to the next belt. Jiu-Jitsu training is based on a warm up, development of specific skills for Jiu-Jitsu, a position or take downs, drills, and rolling.
Our goal is to offer the community a sport that teaches people how to defend themselves, have fun, and get healthy. The academy has an atmosphere of companionship and fun that permeates through the discipline and respect that the Alliance method teaches our students.
